RCA 400 16mm Projector Showing Magnetic Striped Film
This is my RCA 400 model MI-35002 projector that not only shows optical sound films but also mag striped films. It is also capable of recording on mag, striped film. Here I am showing how it`s threaded up and showing some clips of a mag reel of film showing a couple of scopitones that I bought off of Ebay. The clips of film were processed in technicolor, so they won`t fade and the colors are really nice.

Restoring A Bell And Howell 8mm Filmo Picture Master Projector
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.3 года назад
Was interested in this 8mm after seeing a youtube video of one being demonstrated and searched out one on ebay. So after buying one I decided to make a video getting it working again. It`s not my best video work, and I feel like it was put together a little awkwardly, but here it is. The narration more or less speaks for itself.
Bell Records Program Played On My Trixette Phonograph

This is a program of 78rpm 7" Bell records played on my Trixette phonograph with a Garrard 4 speed record changer installed inside the cabinet. This machine sounds great and still has the original cartridge installed in the tonearm.
Cleveland Ohio short 16mm homemade film made between late 1973 early 1974. no sound.

Wanted to upload a little homemade film that I`ve held on to for a long time. I found it in a Big Reel purchase many years ago, and was apparently made I believe between late 1973 and early 1974, it has a magnetic stripe on the soundtrack side but I`m not sure if anything was ever recorded on it. I just don`t have a real way to play back the film to listen if there`s a soundtrack on the film. I...

Bids Tavern footage from the 1970`s
Просмотров 8 тыс.5 лет назад
Description is in the video titles before the clip. It was photographed on B/W double perf. silent film. Will never know if there was ever a sound reel to sync up with the picture as one was never found. And since this was made so many years ago, I doubt that if one was ever made that it doesn`t exist anymore.
Gustov Mahler Symphony #8 N.Y. Philharmonic broadcast 4/9/1950

This is a Silvertone wire recording that was recorded off the air from radio station WCAU-FM on 4/9/50 of The N.Y. Philharmonic performing Gustov Mahler`s 8th Symphony at Carnegie Hall. Recorded on two spools of recording wire this is the entire concert. The person who originally made these recordings catalogued each spool of wire by numbering each wire canister in order and putting a slip of p...
Old Time Revival Meeting. Echos From the Past

This is another video from my series of old recordings to be saved for all time, and It`s an hour long edition. This wire spool I`m guessing was made in the 1950`s. I know it goes on for a long time but there are some pretty good moments in it. Enjoy it.
Partial Old radio Show Featuring John Charles Thomas Late 40`s?
Просмотров 6886 лет назад
Contained on this spool of wire is part of a program featuring singer John Charles Thomas performing various musical selections. The title of the program is unknown as there is no beginning or end. It just starts somewhere after the show was already under way. Maybe he had his own radio program. I don`t know.

This is a wire recorder I bought on ebay, and while I`m not an EXPERT restorer, I do what I can to get these old machines working again. This one was kind of easy, but at the same time It can sometimes be challenging to get them apart to fix them.

Army Navy Screen Magazine Clip "JUBILEE" W.W. 2 radio show

This was videotaped from my Bell and Howell 16mm sound projector, and filmed using my digital camera, thus there was a small amount of flicker. It was the full clip that was spliced in between two other clips of a series called "Army Navy Screen Magazine" that was produced during W.W. 2 to inform and entertain the troops. These shows were only broadcast to the fighting men during the war, and w...
RCA Victor 45 Rpm player, playing the song "Poop A Tink"
Просмотров 8887 лет назад
This is a record that I bought off of eBay, and I remember hearing this song when I was a kid and I had always kind of wanted to have a copy of it. I guess it's the same as I remember it when I was a kid, but I don't remember this being the side that was supposed to be plugged as evidence by the star on this side of the label. It's probably a promotional copy but at-least now I have a copy of it.
General Electric play talk Child's Toy to record his voice
Просмотров 2,8 тыс.7 лет назад
This is a G.E. play talk that I bought on eBay a while back, and restored it by replacing the capacitors and bad tubes. It works fairly well but still would need a new belt to drive the motor and turntable. This is the 2nd of 2 that I have. They're kind of neat and fun to play with and you can record up to about 2 minutes worth of a message on one of these flat disks

I shot mag-striped film in the late 1970s always hoping to eventually put sound on it, but I never did... however, I recently discovered a mag-striped roll from 1982 that I shot in a CP-16 with live sound recorded in-camera - that was a treat!

I'm a little late to this party 9 years since the OP. My dad was a clergyman and in 1950, a wealthy parishioner gave him a Brush "Sound Mirror", BK401 on which to record his sermons. By the late 50s it was in my room, my friends and I having a great time recording our own "radio" shows. The 1/4" tape was paper, not polyester and very much prone to breaking, especially when re-winding. One had to be very careful when splicing that no tape glue residue was present or the splice would stick and cause a rats nest next rewind.

Thanks so much for this info! What kind of bulb does this projector take? I'm thinking about picking one of these up from a local vendors mall. The colors on that old film (looked to be mid to late 50s) were wonderful! Also, did you check out ball bearing grease, like they use on trailer tires? It's really thick. Thanks again!

I've had some wire recorders over the years. This one sounds awful. If one is playing right, they are indistinguishable from a tape recorder. You've got to fix the wow and flutter. Then figure out where the distortion comes from. Why don't you record some music from RUclips?

Also, just wanted to say I grew up with stack technology but I've never seen anything like this! Plays both sides, all speeds, and changes needles! The ultimate in machine age electronics! Today that would be wonderful technology updated for lighter tone arm but who knows! A machine like this made today would probably cost 2000!

America through the eyes of those who lived it, not the elites, not propagandist not the byproduct of any one with a particular political belief, an agenda to push or an axe to grind, these raw artistic compositions were created by ordinary plane folk who were simply singing songs of their lives, what they've seen and lived through, the lives of Americans throughout the nation. The legacy they left for us to enjoy and to remind us on so many levels of our American heritage. Thank you for presenting us with this gem!

You've got to give "keep your eyes on her hands" the dedicated transfer and upload it so richly deserves, that's actually a really good version of the song! Good vocal, nice cabaret backing and great hula dancing verging on the burlesque. Lush colours too, obviously not kodak film stock... By the way these projectors were known as the RCA Hollywood here in the UK, mine was optical only.
